"The Japanese foods"

  I read a book about Japanese food.
The Japanese have one of the the healthiest diets on Earth. Unlike some other nationalities, the Japanese do not eat too much. 
Because of this, only 4 percent of the Japanese population is obese, compared to 17 percent of the French and 34 percent of Americans.
The reason foe this is the history of our food culture.
  At first, Japanese has a history "Ama"
Ama means "Female diver" in Japan. They can dive very deep in the sea without oxygen tanks to help them breathe.
They have been looking for shellfish to eat since 2000 years ago.
It can be said their few way of surviving.
  Next, Japan is one of the rare countries that people eats tuna.
Even if a fishermen, it is difficult to catch them. Because they are so big and fast to swim!!
At worst case, fishermen are pulled over the side of the boats and into the sea.
However, they have put their lives in danger to eat to survive.

Like this, Japan is an island with the sea all around it, so, it is natural for us to eat seafoods.

I thought Japanese people who lived in old days had a hard time to survive.
This culture are so beautiful and precious, so, we have to preserve them.
